System of a Down's Music

System of a Down released their first album in 1998 titled "System of a Down". This album is certified platinum. The cover artwork is from World war 2 anti-fascist poster designed by the artist John Heartfield. The text on the original poster is "5 pictures has a hand! with these 5 grab the enemy!". System of a Down released this album due that they haven't finished all the material in Toxicity and it is also called as "Toxicity 2". They released their forth album in 2005 titled "Mezmerize". This album is certified as platinum. This album has sold over 10 million copies. The album's artwork is made by Daron Malakian's father, Vartan Malakian. The length of this album is 36 minutes and 6 seconds and contains 11 songs. This album is known for the track "B.Y.O.B" which has won a Grammy Award in 2006 for the best Hard Rock Performance.

Hypnotize was last system of a down's last studio album before their 4 years hiatus from August 2006 - November 2010. Hypnotize has sent 8 million copies worldwide. System of a Down band members

Serj Tankian is born on the 21st of August 1976 in Beirut , Lebanon. At age five Tankian moved with his parents to Los Angelis, California and after high school he studied Marketing.In 1993 he founded the band Soil with Daron Malakian. Later the band name was Changed to System of a Down. Serj Tankian is not only in the band System of a Down but also as a solo artist. He is known for his song "Empty walls".

Daron Malakian was born on 18 th of July 1975. Daron is the only member of System of a Down who was born in the United states.As a child he wanted to play the drums, but his parents bought him an electric guitar and he started to write songs. He is the guitarist of System of a Down and also The lead vocalist of a band that he formed called Scars on Broadway. He is also considered as one of  greatest hard rock guitarist of all times.

Shavo Odadjian was born on 22 nd of April 1974 in Yerevan , Armenia. He has been in the band Soil which later change to System of a Down.He's the bassist of System of a Down. Shavo directs most of the System of a Down music videos.He's famous for his beard.

John Dolmayan was born on the 15 th of July 1973 in Lebanon.He's the Drummer of the bands System of a Down and Scars on Broadway. John Dolmayan has been one of the most influental drummers in the music scene.

                                 System Of a Down
System of a down is an alternative rock band founded in southern California. This band consists of  four members: Serj Tankian the lead vocalist, John Dolmayan the drummer, Daron Malakian the backing vocals and the guitarist and Shavo Odadijan the bassist.System of a down is also known as SOAD.Both Serj Tankian and Daron Malakian attanded the school of Rose and Alex Pilibos Armenian School.In 1992 Serj Tankian and Daron Malakian formed a band named Soil.The band hired Shavo as a  rhythm guitarist in 1994.
This band wasn't successful and they split up. These three members formed a band named “Victims of a Down." Later they changed the name to "System of a Down". At the beginning of 1997 their temporary drummer was replaced with John Dolmayan.

In June 1998 System of a Down released their first album titled "System of a Down " which was an instant hit.
They continued releasing more albums over the years like Steal this Album (2001), Toxicity (2003), Hypnotize (2004) and Mezmerize (2006)..The band achieved the award of the best hard rock performance of their song B.Y.O.B in 2006

In May 2006 they announced that they are going on a break from the music scene,Tankian continued with his solo career.
While Daron and John formed a band called "Scars on Broadway".
On November 29, 2010 System of a Down announced that they reunited.
